Mumbeija

Mumbeija

I took this using my phone’s self-timer the day I had my hair cut into a style, of my own volition (this specification is necessary because my relationship with hair has been a saga – read more here). What I most love about this photo is its regal air; being comfortable with this image is part of having embraced my features and the rich heritage behind them.

Mumbeija = princess, in the Haya language

  • Earrings: Loft
  • Necklace: vintage (my late mother)
