Cinderella

I call this a ‘Cinderella’ dress because it’s eye-catching magic born of scraps; leftovers uplifted by skilled hands. Dresses made this way tend to be unique because they were originally* crafted from whatever the tailor had lying around, such that no two patterns emerged the same.

(*Nowadays, as the style has risen in popularity, they’re often deliberately designed thus.)

  • Shoes: Michael Kors via Marshalls
  • Dress: tailored in Ghana from scraps of ankara/kitenge fabric
